All About Our Move To McGovern

As part of our ongoing efforts to enhance mobility and convenience for the Merrimack Valley area residents, we are pleased to announce the upcoming opening of our new bus hub at a better, more accessible location. McGovern will serve as a central point making it easier than ever to get around.

To better accommodate the needs of our riders, we have made some adjustments to routes and schedules which will go into effect Sunday, September 29, 2024. Scroll down for updated routes and schedules.

Key Features of the New Hub:

  • Prime Location: Located at 211 Merrimack Street, in Lawrence, McGovern is strategically positioned to maximize accessibility and it is is designed to serve a larger portion of the community efficiently.
  • Intermodal Station Integration: This hub will be more than just a bus station. It will integrate multiple modes of transportation, including buses, trains and bikes. This will make transferring between different forms of transit easier and faster.
  • Enhanced Connectivity: The new hub will enhance connections between key areas like Lawrence, Haverhill and Newburyport, making commuting smoother for work, education, leisure and other activities.

The McGovern bus hub and intermodal station will provide you with more reliable, convenient, and sustainable transportation options. It’s designed to make your commute smoother and to support the continued growth and vitality of our community.

We’re eager to see how these improvements will enhance your travel experience!

WELCOME TO MCGOVERN 😊

At the new McGovern location, each bus will be assigned to a parking space – or PLATFORM – taking the guess work out of finding your bus. There will be 9 platforms (A-H and J) separated into two lanes. In Lane 1 (which is the row of buses closest to Merrimack Street) you will find Platforms A-D. In Lane 2 (which is the row of buses closest to the train tracks) you will find Platforms E-H and J.
