MeVa’s policy for governing the ADA DOT requirement to transport any wheelchair that does not exceed the capacities of the vehicle and its equipment (lift/ramps) is: Drivers must transport all passengers in wheelchairs whose combined weight and dimensions do not exceed the capacities of the vehicle and its equipment. Please note that if the combination of the customer and wheelchair/scooter exceeds the lift capacity, we may not be able to accommodate your trip.

The numbers represent time points on the route, this means that at the time under the designated number you will see the bus drive by, for example if time point 4 has 5:45pm under it, the bus will go by that designated area at 5:45pm, give or take a minute or two.
-
MeVa does not have any fixed stops, we run on a flag down policy.
-
A flag policy is when a person/persons wishing to board the bus waves to the bus operator as the vehicle is approaching. You must be on the same side of the street as the bus and in a safe spot.
-
When you see the bus is nearing your destination point, you should press the signal tape that runs vertically between the windows to let the bus driver know that this is where you want to get off.
-
A No Stop Zone is an area that the MeVa has designated as too dangerous or unsafe for the bus to stop at, therefore passengers can not get on or off the bus within this No Stop Zone.
-
The Lawrence based routes all work on a pulse system. The way it works is that the Lawrence based routes all leave Buckley at the same time and then all return around the same basic time. The Pulse System allows passengers to transfer to their next bus easily due to not having to wait for a long time to make a transfer.
-
Yes, all MeVa buses are equipped with easy to use bike racks in the front that can hold two bikes and are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Each bike is held securely by a spring-loaded clamp. Bikes are not allowed inside the bus, if bike rack is full, you will have to wait for the next bus.

All of our fixed routes are fare-free starting March 1, 2022.
