The Marketing and Communications Outreach Coordinator is responsible for planning and delivering community-facing initiatives that promote MeVa’s public transportation services, increase ridership, and deepen engagement across the 16 communities we serve. This role is essential in representing MeVa to the public, strengthening visibility and trust in our services, and identifying unmet transportation needs. The Marketing and Communications Outreach Coordinator is not a management position but plays a vital role as a frontline ambassador of the organization. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, creative, bilingual (English/Spanish), and passionate about the idea that transportation is freedom—enabling people to live with dignity and opportunity. This position requires someone who is comfortable working independently, supported by a collaborative team, and who can take initiative, run with ideas, and follow through with enthusiasm and accountability. This position reports to the Deputy Administrator.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead community engagement: Plan and run events, meetings, and “Travel Training” workshops, providing all outreach in English and Spanish.
  • Be a local resource: Hold regular office hours at community centers to share transit info, build relationships, and gather feedback.
  • Own our voice: Create bilingual social content, press releases, and monthly e-newsletters that keep riders informed and excited.
  • Design standout materials: Produce presentations, flyers, and other print/digital collateral—ensuring all pieces are clear, eye-catching, and bilingual (and coordinating other language translations as needed).
  • Contribute wherever your skills fit best: Support additional outreach initiatives and special projects, bringing bilingual communication skills to whatever arises.

Must-Have Qualifications

  • 2 + years in outreach, communications, public engagement or a related degree.
  • Fully bilingual: English / Spanish.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and social media platforms.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within service area.

Work Setup and Schedule

  • Primary office: Haverhill, MA office; regular field work across our service area.
  • 35 hrs/week, Mon–Fri, 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m. (1-hour unpaid lunch).
  • Occasional evenings/weekends for events; flex time provided to balance hours.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary: $60,000–$80,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
  • Paid time off, medical, dental and retirement benefits.
